Features and benefits

For fixing expanded polystyrene boards in the insulation of buildings in ETICS systems using the light-wet method.

Properties

Description

CERESIT® ZS adhesive mortar is used for gluing EPS and XPS polystyrene boards in complex external wall insulation systems (ETICS) of buildings using the CERESIT Ceretherm light-wet method. It is suitable for both newly erected and thermo-renovated buildings. Mortar-glued boards require additional fastening with mechanical fasteners. CERESIT ZU, CT 85 or CT 100 mortar should be used to make a layer reinforced with fiberglass mesh on polystyrene boards. Available pack size: 25 kg

How to use

CERESIT Tiling CE60 LP Instructions Illustration Step 1

CERESIT ZS SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

CERESIT ZS shows good adhesion to carrying, compact, dry and clean substrates free from substances decreasing adhesion of surfaces of walls, plasters and concretes. The adhesion to the existing plasters and paint coatings should be checked before starting the application. Any losses and uneven surfaces should be filled or covered. Any surface contaminant and other adhesion impairing substances, steam-tight paint coatings and the coats with low adhesion to the substrate should be removed.

APPLICATION OF CERESIT ZS

Put CERESIT ZS into water and stir until a homogeneous mass without lumps is obtained. Apply the ready mortar with a trowel around the perimeter of the slab in a 3-4 cm wide strip and in several patches with a diameter of approx. 8 cm. Immediately apply the slab to the wall and press down. When the CERESIT ZS mortar has set (after approx. 3 days), the boards should be sanded with sandpaper and start additional fastening with mechanical fasteners.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE WHEN USING CERESIT ZS

The work should be carried out in dry conditions, with an ambient temperature and substrate temperature ranging from +5°C to +25°C. The sandy mortar has irritating properties, and the cement and lime content and lime content gives the product an alkaline reaction when mixed with water. Skin and eyes should be protected. In case of contact with eyes, rinse abundantly with water and seek medical advice.
