Our guidelines for application of Ceresit CT 710 plaster - Visage Stone Effect - Granite.
relative humidity lower than 80%
relative temperature +10 to +25oC
smoothing 30 min. after application
a long float
PU foam
a stainless steel trowel
a drill with mixer paddle
a reinforcing mesh + profiles
Plaster Ceresit CT 710 can be used on traditional plasters, concrete and gypsum surfaces, chipboards, drywall boards, cement based mortars applied on expanded polystyrene boards and mineral wool insulation. The plaster can bridge capillary scratches in the surface.
- When applied within Ceretherm Visage System, the plaster is applied on the reinforced layer of Ceresit CT 85 or CT 190 mortar, primed with Ceresit CT 16 priming paint in one of the recommended colours,
- Other cases – on mineral substrates, dry, strong, free of dust and primed with CT 16 in one of recommended colours.
Application of CT 710 plaster should be carried out not earlier than 3 hours after priming.
Manual application
Manual application is recommended for all CT 710 textures. CT 710 can be used with the brick stencils. Mixing before application is mandatory. Apply plaster mass uniformly on the surface with a steel long float until thickness of minimum 2 mm is achieved which ensures complete coverage of the surface. The long float should not be pressed too strongly to the surface.
- Avoid relative humidity higher than > 80%.
- Working temperature from +10°C to +25°C.
Smooth plaster after 30 minutes from application, before its surface starts to dry out. Use a PVC trowel to make smoothing. Keep the trowel flat to the wall to achieve even plaster coat with uncovered mica particulars. For Mozambique Graphite texture manual application is recommended without smoothing.
Machine application
Machine application of CT 710 Granite is permissible for Jamaica Brown texture only. The gun’s nozzle diameter has to be 6 to 8 mm. The compressor’s capacity should be above 100 l and the working pressure from 2 to 8 bar. For machine application ca. 5% of water can be added. CT 710 Jamaica Brown plaster should be applied on the substrate in two layers with “wet on wet” operation. The first layer has to be applied manually using a smooth steel. The second layer should be applied by spraying with gun from 30-60 cm distance and with circular motion.

Plaster CT 710 can be applied no earlier than 3 hours after priming.
How to tackle cavities under insulation without cutting out large parts of plastered insulation?
If there are cavities under EPS boards and you do not want to cut out large parts of insulation, make local injections with PU foam adhesive.
Drill some small holes through all insulation layers to reach the wall. The drillhole can be as wide as the diameter of PU foam gun barrel. Inject the PU adhesive Ceresit CT 84 into the drilholes.
