CLIMATE

Acting for the climate - innovative solutions in the construction industry.

At Ceresit we strive to reduce the CO2 emissions from our operations by implementing energy efficient processes in our production plants, and by collaborating with our suppliers to support them in the transformation of their production processes. We are also actively working on identifying new, innovative raw materials with a lower carbon footprint. Not only are we mindful of our emissions, but we also aim to support homeowners in reducing theirs through the use of our facade insulation products.

Low CO2 emissions in operations

Our plans:

  • Reduce sand waste
  • Buy & use drier sand
  • Replace sand driers
  • Use biogas & electrify processes

Our results:

  • Majority of Ceresit European plants use energy 100% from renewable sources
  • Reduction of CO2 emissions* between 2010-2023 by ~70.000 tons, which is equivalent to greenhouse gas emissions sequestered by 1,1 M tree seedlings grown for 10 years.**

*Addressing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, considering on emission factor (CO2/t produced) for 2023 vs. 2010 and volumes 2023

Lower carbon footprint raw materials

Introducing new type of cement with lower carbon footprint.*

50% of dispersion binder is attributed to certified biomass, based on mass balance**

*The majority of the grey cement we use in our CERESIT plants in Europe has been switched to cement with lower clinker content (CEM II) compared to CEM I
**min. 20% of the product’s fossil-based materials is attributed to renewable biobased materials.

Building a sustainable future for planet and for homeowners with our facade systems

Energy efficiency

Up to 40% heat is lost through walls. Thermal Insulation systems allow to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.

Reduced CO2 emissions

Ceresit facade insulation products enable our customers to save approx. 4 milion metric tons of CO2 yearly, which translate into 66 M planted trees, grown for 10 years.

Improved comfort

Comfortable and healthy interior climate, heat loss reduced to a minimum.

Durable & attractive

Gives facade a stylish and beautiful appearance.
