CERESIT® CM 22 is a special tile adhesive for application of large format plates on difficult substrates. It ensures a highly flexible adhesive bed on critical surfaces. Its consistency is adjustable, thus CM 22 is very well suited for large format tiles. Perfect for use on heated screeds, balconies, patios. CM 22 can also be used to repair and level unevenness's of up to approx. 8 mm depth prior to tile laying.Available pack size: 20 kg, 25 kg.
Prepare the substrate and make sure it is not wet. Cement and concrete screeds must be fully cured prior to application of CERESIT CM 22. Any existing dirt, loose l debris and coatings shall be mechanically removed. Absorbent substrates shall be primed and left to dry. Surface unevenness up to 5 mm can be filled on the previous day with CM 22.
Mix CERESIT CM 22 (25kg) with the recommended amount of clean cold water (as per the Technical Data Sheet) using a professional mixer until obtaining a homogeneous mass without agglomerations. It is necessary to wait for 5 minutes and mix once more. Consistency can be adjusted by adding water followed by remixing.
Apply CERESIT CM 22 with a steel toothed trowel, depending on the size of the ceramic veneer. A thin layer of CM 22 must also be applied on tiles (covering 100% of the contact surface) – make sure the surface is not dirty or dusty and the boards not wet. Place boards on pressed mortars while the adhesive is still sticky, only during the indicated open time.
CERESIT CM 22 is recommended to be applied in indoor and outdoor areas and wet areas, on balconies, terraces and heated floors. CM 22 is used for installation of large format tiles on different waterproofed surfaces. For use in pools and potable water tanks.
CERESIT CM 22 can be applied on smooth, load-bearing, dry substrates and without impurities (such as grease, bitumen, dust): concrete, cement screeds and plasters, cement mortar plasters, plasterboards (primed with CT 17), traditional plasters and paints with good adhesion (polished with sandpaper, vacuumed and primed with CT 17), anhydrite substrates and substrates from gypsum, cellular concrete, existing ceramic and stone tiles.
Application of CERESIT CM 22 must be carried out in dry conditions at a temperature ambient between +5 and +25°C. All data refer to temperature of +23°C and relative humidity of 50%.
