CERESIT® CM 12 adhesive mortar is designed for laying gres and other ceramic, cement and natural stone tiles (colour-fast), indoors and outdoors. CM 12 mortar can be used in areas exposed to water penetration and on areas that have underfloor heating. CM 12 adhesive mortar can be applied on even, load-bearing and compact substrates, free of any adherence-reducing substances (grease, bitumen, dust). Available pack size: 25 kg.
Make sure the applied substrate is dry before applying CERESIT CM 12. Any existing dirt, loose layers and paint coating with low strength must be mechanically removed. Absorbent substrates must be primed with CT 17 and left to dry for at least 2 hours. Surface unevenness up to 5 mm can be filled on the previous day with CM 12.
Mix CERESIT CM 12 (25kg) with the indicated amount of clean water (according to the technical data) using a drill with a mixer until it forms a homogeneous mixture, free of lumps. Leave for 5 minutes and then stir the mix again. If necessary, add a small amount of water and stir once more.
Spread the CERESIT CM 12 mortar on the substrate with a notched trowel. For indoor wall application, the mortar coverage on the tiles backside should be minimum 65%. When tiles are exposed to permanent moisture and freezing, the combined (floating-buttering) method shall be used. Tiles should be laid during the open time of CM 12.
CERESIT CM 12 is suitable to be applied in indoor and outdoor areas with humidity and heavy traffic. CM 12 is used ceramic and gres tiles and recommended to be used for stair cases and heated floors.
CERESIT CM 12 flexible tile adhesive mortar indoors and outdoors can be used on substrates such as concrete, cement screeds and plasters, cement and lime plasters. CM 12 indoors can be also used on plasterboards (primed with CT 17), paintwork, anhydrite and gypsum and aerated concrete (primed with CT 17).
Application of CERESIT CM 12 should be carried out in dry conditions, with the air and ground temperature from +5 °C to +25 °C.
