CERESIT® CT 17 Profi is a solvent-free universal primer for absorbent substrates (walls, floors, ceilings) indoor and outdoor prior to fixing ceramic tiles, pouring floors, fixing floor lining, papering, puttying, painting, or fixing thermal insulation boards. Substrates primed with CT 17 are of lower absorbency, which prevents too rapid over drying of adhesive mortars, flooring, putties and paints. Available canister size: 1 l, 2 l, 5 l, 10 l and 20 l.
The substrates primed with CERESIT CT 17 Profi primer must be dry, load-bearing, and free of adhesion-reducing substances: fats, bitumen, dust, etc. Any stains and layers of poor strength need to be removed. This also applies to existing adhesive paints, which must be scraped off and washed down with water.
Shake the canister of the CERESIT CT 17 several times. In case of gluing ceramic tiles on cement and cement-lime substrates, works may be commenced only 15 minutes after completion of priming. In the case of priming very absorbent or loose substrates, the formulation may be diluted with clear water in the proportion 1:1.
Apply the formulation onto the substrate with a brush or roller. Apply subsequent layers of CERESIT CT 17 Profi without dilution using the “wet-to-wet” method. In case of priming substrates prior to painting, CT 17 may be diluted with water. If after drying of the formulation the substrate is still absorbent, priming must be repeated.
CERESIT CT 17 is deep penetrating, fast drying primer for all absorbent substrates. CT 17 is used for priming under ceramic tiles on mineral substrates, under levelling compound and under thermal insulation. CT 17 is perfect for indoor and outdoor use for strengthening the substrate surface.
CERESIT CT 17 Profi is designed for priming substrates (walls, floors, ceilings) inside and outside buildings prior to fixing ceramic tiles, pouring floors, fixing floor lining, papering, puttying, painting, or fixing thermal insulation boards. Substrates primed with CT 17 are all kinds of plaster, concrete, screeds, primers with underfloor heating installations.
Works should be carried out with a temperature ranging from +5 °C to +25 °C and air humidity below 80%.
